Inspired by the culture, spices and living in India, the chefs at Green Lettuce
create tantalizing Chinese and Indian food - traditional and original - combined
that will certainly have you coming back for more!
The owners of Green Lettuce were born and raised in India. With a passion for
cooking and an array of marvelous spices, they have created a fusion of traditional
Chinese dishes with local Indian spices. The owners brought this concept to Vancouver
in hopes that people would love spicy Chinese-Indian food just as much as they do! The late
food critic James Barber visited the restaurant on several occasions and shortly after
his articles that raved about the chilli dumplings and green beans, Green Lettuce
became an instant hit in Vancouver! Various Bollywood actors enjoy the food including
Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai who have visited us.
Green Lettuce is a homestyle restaurant and the first Indian style Chinese food
restaurant in the Lower Mainland. The first location, in Vancouver on Kingsway,
with a seating capacity of 60 people was established in 1999 and operated until
closing June 2026. In 2003, Green Lettuce expanded to Surrey at Boundary Plaza
(64th Avenue and Scott Road) with a seating capacity of 110 and remains open.
